Aoshima’s Waterline Series—Now More Detailed Than Ever!
The Akitsu Maru was a special-purpose vessel built for amphibious operations. Initially designed to carry 13 Type 97 fighter aircraft, it lacked landing gear equipment and instead served in early Pacific campaigns such as the Dutch East Indies operation. This kit faithfully recreates the Akitsu Maru as a transport ship in its 1942 configuration, scaled to 1/700. With a streamlined parts layout, it offers both ease of assembly and accurate detailing.
