The Water Line Series has been renewed with even greater accuracy and detail. Newly researched and redesigned outfitting parts, combined with extensive use of slide molds, faithfully reproduce the intricate details of 1/700 scale warships. New Tooling Added

Following the conversion of Kamikawa Maru, Kimikawa Maru and Kiyokawa Maru were commissioned as second-generation seaplane tenders in 1941 and assigned to the fleet. After arriving at Saipan, Kiyokawa Maru participated in the Rabaul invasion operation. In 1943, she was designated as a Special Seaplane Tender and incorporated into the Second Southern Expeditionary Force. Later, she was damaged by enemy attacks at Makassar and remained in service until the end of the war, which she spent in the western South Seas area.
This kit features a straightforward and easy-to-assemble parts layout while accurately capturing the vessel’s key characteristics. Newly designed equipment parts, including the aircraft catapult and searchlights, have been added. The model successfully conveys the fine detail and precision expected of the 1/700 scale.
