Equipped with a well-balanced array of anti-submarine, anti-air, and anti-surface warfare capabilities, the Akizuki is especially designed to enhance air defense in order to protect Aegis-equipped ships against ballistic missile threats.
The model kit adopts the same modular construction method as the Atago-class, featuring transparent parts and molded in white, black, and gray to make painting and detailing easier. A P-1 maritime patrol aircraft is also included as a bonus.
